Galo Carrillo Le Roux completed his doctorate in Process Engineering at the Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse in 1995. He is since 2013 a Full Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering of the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo. He acts in modeling, simulation, synthesis and control of processes with emphasis on methods for parameter estimation and systems identification (inverse problems). The areas of application cover a wide spectrum from biotechnology, petroleum, petrochemicals, environmental chemistry, photochemistry to food engineering, that range from the operation of industrial plants to the understanding of elementary reaction mechanisms. He is the President of the Brazilian Association of Chemical Engineers.
